about
my new single is finally here!!
i wrote '1985' about forbidden love and late night romances, as well as my fascination with the 80s. if i had a time machine, it's the first place i would go, which is why i desperately wanted to write a song about it.
this is my first time ever doing a synth-pop style song, and i'm really proud of how the production turned out :)
the track is very inspired by early taylor swift and nowadays conan gray, and i wrote/produced/performed the whole thing myself!
hope u enjoy it <33
lyrics
He said he's from out of town
That his parents weren't around
And he drove a chevy car
I said let's disappear
And no one has to know where we are
Eyes like the blue sky
And hair like the twilight
There's no coming back from here I fear
Oh, baby
You look like a movie scene
Picture a dark night
Filled with neon lights
From a film made back in '85
There's a little mystery
But it's all fine with me
Let's just kiss at every traffic light
And pretend we're in 1985
Oh, woah, oh
Pretend we're in 1985
He wears a gold chain
Got his hand on my waist
And the other on the wheel
Street lights passing by
No one else knows how it feels
Back roads at midnight
Him and the skyline
He's bad, but we've passed no return I fear
Oh, baby
You look like a movie scene
Picture a dark night
Filled with neon lights
From a film made back in '85
There's a little mystery
But it's all fine with me
Let's just kiss at every traffic light
And pretend we're in 1985
Oh, woah, oh
Pretend we're in 1985
People stare and wish they had
What you and I share
And when it's over
I will haunt you like a ghost, 'cause
People stare and wish they had
What you and I share
And when it's over
I will haunt you like a ghost, 'cause
Baby, you look like a movie scene
Picture a dark night
Filled with neon lights
From a film made back in '85
There's a little mystery
But it's all fine with me
Let's just kiss at every traffic light
And pretend we're in 1985
Oh, woah, oh
Pretend we're in 1985
Oh, woah, oh
Pretend we're in 1985
